10 Days Tour from Tangier Itinerary
Your journey begins in Tangier , the historic port city known as the "Gateway to Africa." Upon arrival at the airport or port, our driver/guide will greet you and escort you to your riad or hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you'll have the option to explore the city: the medina with its narrow streets, the Grand Socco, the historic cafés frequented by writers and artists, or a scenic stroll along the Corniche. Tangier is a city that blends Moroccan, Spanish, and French influences, creating a unique cosmopolitan atmosphere that will be the perfect setting for the start of your tour.
After breakfast, we set off towards the Rif Mountains , passing through green landscapes and picturesque villages, until we reach Chefchaouen , known as the "Blue City." This little gem of Morocco enchants with its dreamlike blue and white painted streets. You'll have time to explore the medina, visit the Kasbah, and relax in the main square while sipping mint tea. As you wander through the narrow, quiet streets, you'll discover picturesque spots perfect for unforgettable photographs. Overnight stay in a traditional riad with views of the surrounding mountains.
The journey continues south to the archaeological site of Volubilis , an ancient Roman city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can stroll among millennia-old mosaics and still-standing columns that speak to the Empire's grandeur. After the visit, stop in Meknes , an imperial city famous for its imposing Bab Mansour gate, its walls, and the royal granaries. In the afternoon, arrive in Fez , considered the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. After checking in to your riad, you will have some free time to explore this vibrant and authentic city.
The entire day will be dedicated to exploring Fez , the oldest of the imperial cities. With your guide, you will visit the medieval medina, a labyrinth of alleys home to Koranic schools, mosques, palaces, and traditional markets. You will observe master craftsmen at work, such as tanners in the famous Chouara tanneries or potters in their workshops. Fez is a city that seems suspended in time, where traditions are still alive and the daily rhythm follows centuries-old customs. In the evening, you will enjoy a typical Moroccan dinner in an authentic atmosphere.
After breakfast, we set off south through the mountainous landscapes of the Middle Atlas . The first stop will be Ifrane , nicknamed "Little Switzerland" for its architecture and orderly gardens. We then continue through cedar forests, home to Barbary apes, to the town of Midelt , where lunch will be served. In the afternoon, the landscape gradually changes, from mountains to desert valleys, until we reach Merzouga , the gateway to the Sahara. After a warm welcome with mint tea, dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or tented camp under the starry desert sky.
This day will be entirely dedicated to the Erg Chebbi desert , an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, you can visit the Berber villages and discover the nomadic lifestyle, listen to traditional Gnawa music in the village of Khamlia, and admire the oases dotting the desert. In the afternoon, a camel ride will take you through the golden dunes to the Berber tented camp where you will spend the night. Here, under a clear, star-filled sky, you can dine around the fire while listening to the drums and the nomads' stories.
Wake up at dawn to watch the sun rise over the dunes, a spectacle you'll never forget. After breakfast, depart for the spectacular Todra Gorges , a canyon carved into the rock with walls over 300 meters high, much loved by hikers and climbers. The journey then continues along the road of the "Thousand Kasbahs," through palm groves and Berber villages, to the Dades Valley , where you'll find breathtaking landscapes characterized by unique rock formations and verdant oases. Overnight stay in a traditional riad with dinner included.
After breakfast, we set off on a scenic route through fortified villages and historic kasbahs. The main stop will be the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou , a UNESCO World Heritage site and the setting for numerous films, including "Gladiator" and "Game of Thrones." We continue to Ouarzazate , known as the "Hollywood of Morocco" for its renowned film studios. In the afternoon, we tackle the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass , which crosses the High Atlas with spectacular views, arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
The day is dedicated to discovering Marrakech , one of Morocco's most fascinating and vibrant cities. The guided tour includes the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the beating heart of the city, the colorful souks selling spices, carpets, and handicrafts, the Koutoubia Mosque with its minaret, the Majorelle Gardens, and the Bahia and El Badi palaces. Marrakech is a city that enchants with its energy, traditions, and exotic atmosphere. In the evening, you can experience the unique atmosphere of the square, enlivened by musicians, storytellers, and vendors.
The last day of the tour will be spent transferring to Marrakech airport, depending on your flight schedule. You may have some free time for some last-minute shopping or a final stroll through the medina.
