The tour begins with your arrival in Fez , one of Morocco's four imperial cities and the beating heart of Moroccan culture and tradition. Upon arrival at the airport or train station, you'll be greeted by our staff and transferred to your selected riad in the city's historic center. The day is free to unwind from your journey or take a first stroll around the surrounding area, slowly soaking up the city's unique atmosphere. The day begins very early, allowing you to experience the thrill of sunrise over the golden dunes, when the sun transforms the desert into a breathtaking landscape of light and shadow. After breakfast at the camp, we'll explore the nomadic villages and the Gnawa village of Khamlia , famous for its traditional African music and dance. During this experience, you'll observe the locals' daily activities, their simple lifestyle, and the ancient irrigation techniques that allow the desert oases to survive. After experiencing the unique thrill of sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga , the journey continues north. The first stop is Rissani , an ancient caravan city and cradle of the Alawite dynasty. Here you can visit the lively traditional market (souq), famous for its spices, dates, and local crafts, as well as the historic Rissani Gate , which leads to the ruins of the ancient kasbahs.
Continuing your journey, you'll cross the spectacular Ziz Valley , rich in palm groves and Berber villages, before ascending towards the highlands of the Middle Atlas. Along the way, you'll discover breathtaking views, towns like Midelt , and cedar forests populated by Barbary apes.
Finally, arrive in Meknes , one of Morocco's four imperial cities, where grandiose monuments such as the monumental gate of Bab Mansour , the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the unique atmosphere of its medina await you. Overnight in Meknes.
After breakfast in Meknes , the imperial city founded by Sultan Moulay Ismail, you will begin the day with a stroll through its historic sites, such as the spectacular Bab Mansour gate , one of the most impressive in Morocco, El Hedim Square, and the royal granaries. Next, you will head to the archaeological site of Volubilis , an ancient Roman city and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you can admire well-preserved remains of mosaics, columns, and temples that testify to the importance of this city during the Roman Empire. After the visit, the journey will continue through the mountainous and green landscapes of the Rif, with traditional villages and panoramic views along the way, until reaching Chefchaouen , the famous "blue city." Upon arrival, you will settle into your riad and have free time to explore the blue-painted alleys, Uta el-Hammam Square, and the small artisan workshops that make Chefchaouen such a magical and relaxing place.
